Why You Should Register for the Community
It's surprising how many people use Mozy and regularly check the forums and blogs without actually registering for the Mozy Community. Registering has many benefits including the following:
We Can Reply to You
Yes, you can comment on the blog or on a forum topic without registering for the Community, but if you're not registered we can't tag you in our responses. The Mozy Community uses a method simlar to social media where we can use the @ symbol to tag users in responses. This makes it easier to direct information to the right person in a chain of comments.
We Can Find You
If you're a registered Mozy user, your account is linked to your Community profile. That way if you create a thread in the forum regarding something that's happening on your account or the machine attached to your account, we can easily check your profile and find your account.
We never recommend putting personal information such as your account email or billing info into a public thread on the forum. It's just not safe. However, your Community profile information is not public or available to other Users, but it can be accessed by Mozy Support and our employed forum moderators. That way we can easily find the account and look into your issue, or any other support cases you may have had.
It Only Takes a Minute
No really, it takes roughly sixty-seconds to register from the community. The hardest part is choosing a username you want to be known as publicly.
