Stash didn't update on my XP computer.

I have stash on a computer with Vista, a computer with Windows 7, and a computer with XP.  Recently they all updated to version 0.10.1740, except for the computer running XP, which is still on version. 0.8.1028.

Any idea why it didn't update, too?

Dan:

Have you logged out and logged back onto your XP system since the update? That should have triggered the Stash software to update on your system. If not, then we may need to provide you with the software to update it manually.

I think so, but I'm not sure.  That computer almost never gets shut down.  I'll give it a try and report back.

Thanks!

Restarting the computer didn't work.

Re: Stash didn't update on my XP computer.

I'm not sure why it's not updating. Let's have you manually update it.

  1. Quit the currently-running version of Stash by selecting Quit from the tray icon's menu.
  2. Download and install the Stash software for Windows.

After that, you'll be on the latest version. Let's watch to see whether that computer auto-updates when the next release comes up in a couple weeks.

Hi danquixote

I agree with Ted that downloading the update is the easiest solution.  But if you have any further autoupgrade trouble on that XP machine please let us know.  We could look at your logs and get some more information about why it wasn't seeing the update.

(We check for updates each time we start Stash, and periodically after that)

OK.  The manual installation worked fine.  But I'll let you know if it happens again.

Re: Stash didn't update on my XP computer.

Hi danquixote

Yesterday we released another upgrade to 0.10.  I wanted to check back with you to see whether your XP machine upgraded automatically or is still facing the same issue you reported with your 0.8 upgrade.  It is expected that it takes up to 24 hours to discover the upgrade is available, but if you stop and start Stash that should force it to check.

If there is any issue please send your logs to us (from the Help menu "Collect log files..." and then email the zip file to andrews@mozy.com)

Thanks
