New Computer

I have replaced my computer because of a disaster.  Went from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  My tech has managed to get most of my files into the new computer, but not all of them.  Can i Just download from Mozy?  Will that duplicate the files already on the new computer?

Re: New Computer

@karenaleen - It doesn't look like you have received an answer to your question. Let me have a technician look at this right away and get back with you.

Thanks!

Re: New Computer

@karenaleen   If the files that the technician transferred to the new computer are the same as what was backed up, yes it can create duplicate files on your computer depending on how the restore is setup and where you specify the files to go.  However, you can restore the files from the Mozy server to your computer in a separate folder on your computer (i.e. desktop).  Then you can compare the files downloaded from Mozy to what was transferred by the technician.  There are a few links that describe how to do this comparison:  https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=how+to+compare+folders+...

To restore your files, follow the steps in http://support.mozy.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Create-Web-Restore-MozyHome followed by http://support.mozy.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Download-Files-with-Mozy-Restore-Manager.
