Vista Hangs. Mozy2.0?

Hi, this problem seems to have started at the time I installed Mozy2.0.  Soon after boot I get a full system lock up.  I am not 100% sure this is a Mozy issue, but in the Event Viewer I see the following issues:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:

mozyFilter

spldr

Wanarpv6

and

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Anyone seen anything similar?

Anyone know if I can uninstall Mozy to see if that helps and not have to resync all my data when I reinstall?

Re: Vista Hangs. Mozy2.0?

Usually when there is a filter problem it's because an Anti-Virus, spyware removal program or some sort of content filter kills the filter. The mozy filter is what sees the changes to your files, and some anti-virus programs see that as a virus. If you want to try and reinstall the filter, first make sure your AV programs have mozy excluded then follow this article.

When you re-install, mozy will probably have to re-associate your files instead of completely backing them up. This takes time to encode the files and check if they already exist on the servers. However it will see the file and tag it as already uploaded without reuploading it. It's much faster.

Re: Vista Hangs. Mozy2.0?

Thanks Mike.  I disabled Mozy using msconfig instead of uninstalling it and it definitely seems to fix the issues.  I also tried having mozy running with the AV disabled but this still caused the hangs.

Is there any sort of debug information I can get to you?  These hangs require a hard reboot.

Re: Vista Hangs. Mozy2.0?

You would also have to re-install the filter to see if that works without the AV because the AV probably killed it (see the article in my last post). Also make sure it isn't quarenteened in the AV otherwise reinstalling the filter won't do any good.
