Re: Problem with large (Outlook pst) files not being backed up

To the point above, can someone clarify.  Is Mozy clever enough to do incremental backups of large files or does it re-backup the whole file when there are any changes?

Thanks,

Re: Problem with large (Outlook pst) files not being backed up

There was a bug that would cause pst and other database files to not always just backup the incremental changes. We have fixed this in the 2.6 client (just released). Please upgrade to 2.6 to fix the issue.

Re: Problem with large (Outlook pst) files not being backed up

This is great news. I suspect that the total size of my backup is now inflated due to the bug that came and went. I would like to try to get it down below 50 Gb since the pricing model is changing. Would it make sense for me to delete just my PSTs from Mozy online and then let them back up "fresh"? Is it even possible to delete all versions of each PST file?

Thanks.

The "total size" is the sum of the most recent file versions. Past versions of files do not count against your quota.

Not what you wanted to hear :-(

kentsu:

As username_issue stated, the user figures off the currect size of your files, what you would need to do to shrink the size of the PST file is remove old unneeded emails and then compress it.(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291645)
