Hi, I've had an annoying problem for a few months now, since updating my Mozy actually, which is every time my PC starts up Notepad opens a file call desktop that contains the following:
[LocalizedFileNames]
MozyHome Status.lnk=@C:\Program Files\MozyHome\oem.dll,-20101
Anyone know of a way to stop this? I've seen some threads on here but cannot find the desktop.ini files whatsoever. Am running Vista Ultimate if that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Those "system" files are hidden by default.
Have you unhidden them?

Yes, my folder settings are to show hidden files.
I did a search for them, found some but none contain any reference to Mozy ![]()

Hi there,
Please try doing this:
Go to start > run and type in msconfig and press enter
Click on the startup tab and look for the notepad and uncheck it
Click on apply and OK
Reboot
Please let me know if this does not resolve the problem.

I've tried this too, there is no entry for Notepad ![]()

Hi there,
If there is no desktop.ini or notepad in startup under msconfig then lets check the startup folders.
If you are running windows xp right click on the start button and left click on explore all users. Then go to programs and startup and make sure it is not in there. if it is delete it.
If you are running windows vista or 7 go to computer c:\users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Startmenu\

Reboot and let us know if that did the trick

I have a desktop.ini file there, however it only contains:
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell
[LocalizedFileNames]
Windows Mail.lnk=@%ProgramFiles%\Windows Mail\WinMail.exe,-225
So as nothing is pointing to Mozy there's no need for me to delete it is there?
