My mozy has failed to back up for two weeks reporting error5.

My mozy refused to back up for two weeks reporting error 5. After reading the portal I uninstalled it and reinstalled it according to Brian's advice. It has reinstalled but gets hung up on "selecting files to scan". I have left it for twenty four hours but it remains hung up. What is the problem here?

Right click on the Mozy icon in your system tray (bottom right corner of the screen, next to the clock) then mouse over Settings, then choose Enable Advanced View. Now, the status window should show you what is happening while it's scanning files. If while it says "Scanning Files..." it doesn't show you a number next to it that continues to grow, it has stopped. What does yours say?

Firstly I get a status report saying "setup incomplete". When I press the "continue set up" button I get the "back up selection" tab (8999 files). Then I press next and it says it will take a week and four days for an initial scan ?? So then I press the "finish button" and I get the same status tab saying "set up incomplete" So  if it thinks this is an initial setup where are all my backups over the last six moths gone to?? Can't say this is inspiring much confidence in your service.
