I have 7 servers (3 of them 2008 R2) and the only way I can get the backups to complete is to login, run them manually and wait for them to finish. I email support and got an auto response back telling me that I was SPAM and shoudl go use the self help portal.
Time to find another solutions for my backups. **Removed** looks to be pretty good, $19.95 per moonth, per server, for 100GB of space.

I un-installed the latest Mozy and re-installed the older version. Now my backups are working beautifully again.
BTW I've used Mozy for years with virtually no problem - until this week. Prior to that I looked at and used various backup solutions and found them very hard to use and full of problems.Since I started with Mozy a few years ago my life has been much easier. I think their latest release wasn't exactly ready for prime tilme but I'll still stick with them (at least for now) because the problems Mozy has given me are nothing compared to the hassles I;ve had with other internet backup services. I don't have hours to waste checking out other backup services.

I'm seeing the same types of symptoms. MozyServerError12, MozyClientError2, snapshot problems, file locking issues and backups that just seem to go out to lunch.... When you downgraded, did you have to perform a new complete backup again?

I'm doing a full backup only because my backup attempts using the latest Mozy version in the past several days, none ever finished. I always got error 12 messages. So the only way to be safe is to do a full backup using the "downgrade."

I upgraded to Mozy 2.0 and my backup attempts have also been plagued with MozyServerError12. I've yet to be able to do one complete backup without Mozy hanging up.
I believe Mozy jumped the gun in releasing version 2.0.

After renaming the resume and state files. I had once manual backup succeed, and one automatic.
The next automatic just seemed to hang.
I then did the winsock reset that was referenced elsewhere as a problem with Mozy 2, and so now letting it run again.
If I switched back to version 1.16 , understand that I have to first uninstall Mozy 2 and then install 1.16.
What happens to my configuration file ? I have about 60GB of data stored and don't want to have to figure out what folders are being backed up. Will it preserve my configuration file ? Is the configuraiton as to which folders located locally or does it keep that on the Mozy servers ?
So I am reluctant to go back for fear of losing my configuration.

The configuration is in:
%PlaceyouinstalledMozy%\Config\conf.dat
Save that file off somewhere before you downgrade. After getting the old version setup (after you've activated it), replace the new one with the one you saved off. That should keep your configuration settings.

After running into MozyServerError12 problems with Mozy 2.0, I uninstalled 2.0 and reinstalled Mozy 1.16.6.1. Unfortunately, I am still unable to backup. I am now getting ConnectionError9 messages even though I wasn't having any problems prior to the "upgrade" to 2.0. Boy, this is frustrating. After a good run with Mozy I am ready to try out another service if Mozy doesn't get their act together.
Does anyone have any suggestions to fix my problems? I've tried both automatic and manual backups to no avail. Thanks.

I reinstalled version 1.16 ,
however, it does not work either, starts to run, then hangs, with errors in log saying error in sending.
I see that Mozy support finally, looked at the ticket I opened a week ago for problems with Mozy 2.
Said that it looks like a Manifest error, and the engineers will have to look at it and suggested stopping attempting any backups.
I opened another ticket for the 1.16 issue. Could be that Mozy 2 has screwed things up so that 1.16 won't really run.

Following is what Mozy support asked me to do. Basically they have a new version, so I did this and the back up is now running. Note, when you do the netsh winsock reset , you have to restart your machine.
I would suggest anyone with trouble also open a ticket from their support page and also try the LiveChat online to get assistance. At least that way there is some record of your problem and in my case they notified me of the update
Please upgrade the Mozy client to the latest version MozyHome 2.0.12.3. I understand that you uninstalled it and installed MozyHome 1.16.6.1 since the backups weren't successful on the latest client. However, if you upgrade the Mozy client again, run a backup and the issue persists, you can send us the Mozy log file attachment for issue analysis. If I notice that the issue needs to be escalated, I'll do so.
Download Mozy at: https://mozy.com/downloads/mozy-2_0_12_3-12645.exe
So, please upgrade the Mozy client and also work with the following steps to have successful backups:
1) Right click on the Mozy icon, click "Configure", "Options" and the "Scheduling" tab. Put a check mark on the option "Attempt Automatic Backup even if Network Connection is not detected."
2) Please add the Mozy processes as an exception in the anti virus software on your computer. Refer to the documentation or help available on the anti virus program to know how to add an exception.
3) Click on the "Start" button. Click "Run." Type the word "cmd" in the open box. When the DOS screen comes up, type "netsh winsock reset." Press "Enter." Type "exit" to close the DOS window and go back to Windows and run a backup.
Please follow the above steps, run a backup and check the backup history. If the issue persists, please send the Mozy log file for further assistance. The log file is located at "C:\Program Files\MozyHome\Data\Mozy.log".
