MozyHome Backup Service doesn't start after upgrade to 2.36.2.631

After upgrading to MozyHom version 2.36.2.631 yesterday, Mozy is unable to start the MozyHome Backup Service.

 

The client just sits with a message "Connecting to backup service...".  If you look in Windows services, you can see the MozyHome Backup Service is installed but not running.  If you attempt to Start it manually, you get an error:

Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mozy with Windows reboot in between, but not change.  The service can't start.  I am running Windows 10 Pro Version 1709.

 

Prior to the upgrade Mozy was running fine.

Could you exempt Mozy from your anti-virus software, or at least temporarily disable it, to see if that has any affect?

Exactly the same problem after upgrade to 2.36.2.631.

Disabling anti-virus had no impact on the problem.  Contacted Mozy support and they recommended downgrading to version 2.32.8.595.  Did that and things are back to normal.

I have the same issue. Where do you get the 2.32.8.595 media?

Hate to be the one not seeing this problem, but I just upgraded to 2.36.2.631, and the service starts. UI shows 2.36.

This issue is know to effect some of our customers and we are looking into a permanent resolution now.

 

At this point you will need to reinstall Mozy and using the previous version:

 

MozyHome 2_34_0_600

 

MozyPro 2_34_0_600

 

Once you uninstall you will need to reboot then install from the links above.
