Logging Backups and/or programatically retrieving backup history
So, we are using MozyPro to backup our server data. It appears, right now, the only way I can see what was backed up was by going into the history through the MozyPro client on the server in question. We will eventually be backing up multiple servers with MozyPro.
It would be SUPER nice if there was a way to have Mozy either log this information to a file, or be able to use some kind of API to query the Mozy servers to find out what was backed up and when.
The Admin Console has access to this information obviously through the web restore feature, and the mobile apps do as well - so there must be some kind of API... but I can't find anything.
The Mozy Client also has some kind of custom logging feature but it's not documented either (the lack of documentation on this in particular is kind of annoying).
Re: Logging Backups and/or programatically retrieving backup history
Hi Rick, you can get to a pretty good workaround if you use the local backup as well - no limit to the scripts etc you can run on your own (e.g. Cheap NAS box) disk. Combine with MozyPro success report and you have what you want. But the idea of API access is nice - I would LOVE to be able to do programmatic restores from MozyPro (followed by SQL restores and CHECKDB) to make (daily) sure that I actually have something worthwhile up there on Mozy's servers. Right now the (manual) restore is a pain! Chris
