I have a client whose Outlook data (.pst file) is not being backed up. Mozy didn't find it where it expected to, so I manually added it to the backup set. Turned on the options to view hidden/system files and to back up files in use. Closed Outlook and, even after multiple automatic and manual backups, the .pst file is not being backed up, either to the online backup space or the local external hard drive.
Tried to initiate a support ticket, and am unable to log in. Sometimes I receive a SalesForce error after entering username and password, and sometimes before I even get the chance. Cleared all Mozy and SalesForce cookies, turned on third-party cookies, still no luck.
I recommended Mozy to this client (and numerous others), and now her single most critical data file is not being backed up. I really need assistance with this immediately, please!

I've regularly backup 3 different pst files and even with outlook open. If you don't tell mozy to backup open files and the outlook process isn't closed then it won't back it up. Look in your task manager to see if you still have outlook.exe running. If so then end the process and try it again. More easily find in the options tab to "support backing up open files". It was a little bumpy at first, the first couple times didn't work but after that I backup my 4 gb worth of pst files at least 9 times a week.

Thanks for the suggestions, dupku. I insured that Outlook was closed all the way, and selected the "support backing up open files" option, and it still did not back the file up. There are other files in the folder in question, as well, including manually-created backup files that Outlook would not have occasion to open or even know about.

Then it's anybody's guess but they do write a log file in c:\program files\mozy\data and you probably have some errors in there tht you could put in this post - I wouldn't put file names, or path/machine information... you never know who is watching this stuff. ![]()
Maybe if you put that information in here, maybe somebody's seen it before?
What does your Mozy history show, any errors?

The history window shows that everything was successfully backed up. I'll check the log file and see if it sheds any light on the subject.
The Outlook .pst file was not found by Mozy's default file search. It's stored in C:\Documents and Setting\UserName\Local Settings\... The Local Settings folder in that path is hidden, but when I select the option to show hidden folders, I can see it fine in Mozy and select the appropriate subfolder for backup.
Nonetheless, might the fact that the .pst file is within a hidden folder be an issue? I suppose I could move it to a different location in hopes that Mozy will see it, but I'd rather not do that if I don't have to (or if it won't help).
Thanks, and I'll let you know what the log file shows.
