Backed up JPEGs not visible on site...

...and downloaded images produce a Invalid JPEG Marker error in Photoshop.  What happened to my images?

Any file or image that is uploaded to Mozy is then downloaded / restored exactly the way the file / image was when it was backed up.

 

Mozy doesn't change files in any way and neither can change files and has a mechanism built in to the backup software that ensures with extreme accuracy that files are returned and restored exactly the way they were uploaded.  So if files are "corrupt" and unusable then they were uploaded that way to begin with.  

 

My first suggestion would be to restore from an earlier date since you can restore your data exactly the way it looked on any particular day within you retention policy (30 days Mozyhome), but since none of the computers on your account have backed up in over a year then you will only have the last backup available for restore.

I had looked at the images before and now they are no longer visible.

You say you have looked at the images before.  Do you mean that you've looked at them at some point after they were restored and now you can't see them?  When were you able to view the JPEGs?  You may always restore the data again, however if you do restore any more data just remember that it will be restored exactly the way it was backed up to us and from the last backup since there is no backup history.

If I may make the recommendation to perform a restore from a previous date specifically online at https://secure.mozy.com and as soon as you log in, you will arrive at either Account Pages or Synced and Devices. You want to arrive at Synced and Devices off to the left ultimately.

 

I have included an article to assist you with restoring data via the Web Restore method from a previous date below. Simply log into the website, click on Restore Files at Account Pages, or proceed below once you arrive at Devices and Synced off to the left:

Let us know if you have any luck and if you see those images again after restoring from a suspected known-good previous date.
