Does anyone have an update on when we can expect this problem to be fixed? I also have seen my uploads come to a standstill several days ago. Used to get 10GB/day, now I'm lucky if I get 100 MB. Essentially useless until this is fixed.
I would like to report this issue as well. I just signed up for a free account a few days account to try out this service. It is crawling at well below 10KB/s. Only trying to upload 1.6GB and i've been trying to upload for the past 2 days... only about halfway there.
I am hoping to use this service as you provide a PPC based client unlike some competitors.
I have the same issue. Between Jan 4 to 5 I had very good speed 12GB in 12hrs, then it went to a crawl. Now I get a few kbits/s against speedtest.net theoretical speed test to Salt Lake of 2Mb/s.
I switched from PC to Mac and am doing my first backup, so this is something of a disaster.
I've made calls to my ISP to insure nothing was amiss, run the aforementioned speed tests to SLC, etc, etc. No change.
I swear last week I was getting 250Kbps, now I'm averaging 20 over the last days, sometimes down to <10kbps.
I just saw a calculation for completion of my initial backup of ~500gb at roughly 1300days (4 years or more).
This is ridiculous.
I too was running smoothly for a few days, but now back to a snail's pace.
Used to fill my upstream bandwidth of 5 Mbps -- now am barely using 150 Kbps!!!
C'mon Mozy -- this is just not working. If you have a problem, TELL US WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, and give us some idea of when we should expect a resolution.
Or if 150 Kbps is the best you are ever going to be able to do, then let us know so we can find other providers.
I'll add my comment to this thread. I'm having similar problems - good backup speeds until Jan 6th or so. Since then, I can barely backup a gig in 24 hours. No reply from Support either.
Same thing here. Good up until January something and then nothing. It seems to go full speed on large files and then chokes on the little ones, which, of course, are most of them. I have yet to be able to complete my initial backup. Support is apparently aware of the problem (at least according to my last three chats with them) but are unwilling to give an ETA for fixing it. I've tried several other providers and they all have their problems with software, speed, connections, whatever. Mozy was great up until this issue and I'd like to stay with them, but this has to get fixed.
Follow up to my post of yesterday:
Today I'm averaging 2.2 Kbps (NOT Mbps!). The Mozy interface estimates about +2400 days remaining to back me up.
So, in 6 years or so I should finally be done with my initial backup. Nice.
Mozy folks, are you reading this? Can you provide a bit of customer service and simply let your customers know what's the issue and when it'll be resolved? This is absurd.
