Manually initiated backups succeed (most of the time) but, since August 10, Scheduled backups fail. Log file investigation for most recent failures finds:
ERR (backup) BUS get_config failed: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=61 "Operation could not be completed. Connection refused"
ERR (backup) Could not load version info from server: Operation could not be completed. Connection refused (0x3d)

What is going on?
Mozy Home for Mac v. 1.7.3 on iMac G5 under MacOSX 10.5.8
Please change your scheduled backup time to 7-20 minutes off of the hour. For example, if scheduled for 1:00 change it to 1:09. Please let us know hwo this works for you.
As requested, I changed the start time from exactly on the hour to 15 minutes after the hour. I will post the result tomorrow after the scheduled backup is scheduled to run.

I changed backups to occur at 15 min past hour. Results were:
9/11/10 01:15:55 - Backup failed "Backup incomplete"
9/12/10 01:15:05 - Backup succeeded, but ut took 4:31 hours to back up 210 files totaling 22.4MB.
I feel this is progress in that the backups started and ran. But I'm not sure that we have a reliable solution. I will post again after a few more scheduled backups.

Have you tried scheduling the backups roughly at the same time as on of the successful automatic backups?
I've tried various daily scheduled times as part of troubleshooting, with and without computer and hard drive sleep. Automatic backups have successfully occurred at many different times during the day.
Previously, scheduled backups had been reliable for many months. After brief troubleshooting, recent failures sure seem to be related to some system or MozyHome updates.
To add some more feedback for the problem, this morning a scheduled backup finally happened. It was scheduled for 4:07 AM. Several attempts were made until finally the backup was successful at 7:02 AM.

One month of daily successful backups. No changes made here. I assume something has been corrected or improved at the MozyHome servers.
I started this thread; I have also gotten about 1 month of successful backups again. it looks as if either Mozy fixed the problem on their end or we must schedule backups OFF the exact hour time.
