Ever since I allowed the latest version of Mozy to update my Mozy functions, I have not been able to get a backup to complete. It runs and runs, for about two days and nights, and still cannot complete the task.
My last successful backup was on November 16th, 2010 5:29:38 AM. The Mozy has been running again and again, sometime on it's own, and other times I have started it. But, I am now paying for nothing at all, and can't even reach a live human to cancel this thing, or get a corrected version. I have so many important things on my MAC, such as Web Sites and Blogs that I work on, and keep on my MAC, as well as books I am working on.![]()

Hi,
I have the same problem. I just opened a new thread to show that we don't just talk about a litte issue of one person.

Mozy 2.x is useless. I have several postings on various threads and my problem was similar to yours. A solution is to completely uninstall v 2.x making sure to delete any lurking files (I use CleanMyMac) and then download Mozy 1.7.3. There is a link on this board somewhere otherwise do a websearch as I did. When I reinstalled v1.7.3 it recognised my existing backup and I now have a fully functioning backup system again. If you peruse the threads you will see that some who went back to v1.7.3 had to backup from scratch but that is not my experience.

Thanks for responding, but I need a solution, and I need it yesterday...
Has anyone even gotten annually attention on this matter? I'm paying for something I am not getting, and I need it to work. It worked just fine until I got the updated version. Now, it runs pretty much 24/7 and accomplishes nothing.
when will Mozy do something about it?
I have none more question, while I'm at it. Are Mozy and a competitor the same Entity? I get a strange vibe, that they are one and the same, but with a competitor you have to pay annually, and with Mozy, I pay monthly.

I just finished visiting my account page, and found the older version. I downloaded it, and everything, so far, appears to be working again. It may take a while to completely backup again, since I have not been able to backup at all since I allowed the last version 2.0.0.553 to install. Now , all I need to do is to uninstall the updated 2.0.0.553 version.
Hopefully, that will fix my problem, and hopefully, all the others who are banging their heads against the wall.
Happy Mozying again.

There's a glitch in the software. Mozy admits it. They hope they can fix it next week.

Very interesting. Where did you get this news? I can't believe that there's really something going on. No **bleep**in' backup - and no news from offical sources. Sounds like you're a stealthy sales guy. Sorry in advance, if my prejudice reaction is leading me into a wrong direction. I'm just quite angry about being ...

Oh man you got me wrong, so far from being a Mozy shill, I am FURIOUS about this continuing problem!!!
So, the Mozy guy says to me, o next Monday there will be a patch, but if you don't want to do that there will be a "point update" in January. (!!!) You have got to be kidding me.
This system is NOT WORKING. They've been very nice at tech support, but the fact remains, this is NOT WORKING. I'm cruising competitors, and I'd recommend you do the same.

There's this creep over at Windows called issername_issues who's defending Mozy, My Backup Right Or Wrong I guess. I accused it of being in the pay of Mozy, but it denies that.
What creeps. Customer service has been very courteous, but what they have not done is make the thing work.

I'm really sorry. I'm so furious that I blame anybody who tells some good news to be a sales-agent. Infos on official website tell me nothing. So I feel desperate. Maybe I'm just envy that you're a lucky guy who got some kind of reaction from mozy :-)
Sorry for being so harsh, I guess we just share the pain of having made the wrong choice.
Cheers,
