Mac OS5 Library

I can't find the library file for the new Mac OSX in my choices for backup on Mozy.  There are a couple of files that live in the library that I need to back up but the library file is hidden in Mozy.  How can I get to those files through Mozy?

Re: Mac OS5 Library

What kind of library are you talking about, How do you access the files in it?

Re: Mac OS5 Library

It's a folder called "Library".  In the new Mac operating system, it's a hidden foleder that you can access by pushing the Option button on the Go drop down menu.  But I can't get to it from Mozy.  It contains the backup files for my To Do List program called Things.

Re: Mac OS5 Library

From the Things website I found this

Things’ database is stored here:

<your home folder>/Library/Application Support/Cultured Code/Things/Database.xml

So from this the Library folder you are looking for is /Users/<your username>/Library

Re: Mac OS5 Library

Yes.  I know all of that.  And I know where the folder is on my computer.  The problem is, the Library folder is a hidden file on the new Mac OSX.  So, when I look for it within the Mozy program, it does not show up.  Is there a way to find hidden files within Mozy?

Re: Mac OS5 Library

It seems that Lion hides that folder by default. we just reflect this in our client.

This article talks about packages but the trick works for the Library as well

Re: Mac OS5 Library

For those interested, one other tip would be to drag the Library to your sidebar in the Finder to have quick access to it. Then in the Mozy Preferences, click the Advanced button under Files & Folders. In there if you click the + and choose File/Folder, you get a standard OS file chooser window complete with your Finder sidebar with the Library listed there for quick access.

Re: Mac OS5 Library

Could you explain how to drag that hidden Library file into the finder as you suggest above? Also, the other way to acccess the finder in the link you provide ( http://mozy.force.com/support/mozyKnowledgeArticle?DocId=111765 ) explains it for packages but I can't work out how to do it for Library. I am running Lion.
