How do I enable Mozy for only 1 account?

I have a user account "Pete" for which I want Mozy to run, but I also have another account "Kids" on which I do not want any Mozy access/activity at all.

If I set parental controls on "Kids" to only permit certain applications and do not include Mozy then the Kids account experiences repeated message boxes telling them that they do not have permission to run Mozy, but I don't want to enable access for the Kids account just to make it stop.

So, how can I enable Mozy only on the "Pete" account and not on any others?

Re: How do I enable Mozy for only 1 account?

mrpmorris,

The only way to get those notifications to stop popping up is to Allow the MozyHome Status under the Parental Controls.  However, if you do this, the users under "Kids" will not be able to make any changes to the MozyHome Preferences or Settings at all.  If they attempt to make changes it will require the administrator password before allowing them to make any changes.  You can also hide the MozyHome Icon under the "Kids" account by logging in to the "Kids" account and opening the MozyHome Preferences and removing the check from the box that says "Show MozyHome status in Menu bar".  They will still be able to turn that back on, however as I said they will not be able to make and changes to the settings in any way.  The only thing they will be able to do is "Start" and "Pause" a backup.

Thanks.

Re: How do I enable Mozy for only 1 account?

I did this previously but was worried because the Mozy backup icon was pulsing as if it were performing a backup. I am worried about this because I don't know what the implications are of Mozy trying to access files in the user's home folder which obviously won't be there.  Could you tell me?

User "Pete"

Backup folders

 MyHomeFolder/Documents/*

 ExternalDrive/FilesToBackup/*

User "Kids"

MyHomeFolder/Documents = Will have different files in it, many will appear missing, a few will appear to be new

 ExternalDrive = No access

My questions are

1: Will Mozy add the files in MyHomeFolder/Documents which actually belong to a different user?

2: How long will the server hold onto the files which appear to be missing before deleting them?

3: Same question but for ExternalDrive's contents

Thanks
