In this month's webinar, Niall discusses the MozyPro admin console.  He covers topics of users, user groups and client configuration.  More notes from the webinar are located below the video.



Definitions to be familiar with when working in the admin console.


Administrator: The person to whom the MozyPro account is assigned, or someone designated to manage the account by the account owner.

User: Someone that is assigned to manage a device that is being backed up by mozyPro

Resources: The user, storage quota and devices that are used by Mozy Pro.


MozyPro User Types

Desktop: Designed for desktop and laptop computers for backing up office documents, pictures, media files, etc. A desktop user cannot install on a server operating system.

Server: Designed for a server operating system, but can run on a desktop computer as well. For use with backing up network sahres and network applications.


Logging in to MozyPro Admin Console:

Only administrators can log in to the admin console at More than one admin is allowed on an account.

Sub-admins would need to log in via the subdomain: https//


Tasks that can be performed in the Admin Console:

  • Purchase resources
  • Create, manage and delete users/devices
  • Create, manage and delete administrators
  • Limit resource usage at user group/user/device levels
  • Create reports of backups, usage, etc.
  • Create web restores for end users
