We are upgrading our Mozy Community! The new community will have new features, a much improved user interface and will work on your mobile devices. You will be able to access the community during the upgrade but you won’t be able to post until we’ve migrated every user to our new platform. Please see this link for further support options that are always available to you.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Centralized control - Using a client configuration to control what your users backup

If you are a Pro, Reseller or Enterprise customer, using a client configuration is an excellent way to control what files your users backup. Make sure and watch the webinar below for all the details and check out the knowledge base and documentation sections for additional information on the topic.

Highlights from this Webinar:

Overview

  • What is a Client Configuration?
    • Centralized selection of files and rules controlling what data your end users upload from their computer
    • This will allow you to not depend on the users to select the files on their end
    • Administrator controlled
  • How do I configure a client configuration?
    • Configuration is enabled in the Admin Console for Reseller or Enterprise customers (and some Pro accounts)
    • Separate client configurations will need to be created for Desktop and Server users
    • Configure general and operating system specific options for these users
    • Ensure the client configuration is assigned to a user group otherwise it will not be applied to those users

  • Walkthrough of the Client Configuration
    • Please see video for a live demo (starting at 36:00)

Join Us for This Month's Webinar!

Have you joined us for a Mozy Webinar yet? If not, you should! Every month, our trainer Niall takes some time to sit down and teach a webinar, or online class, on a specific Mozy-related topic. He also takes your questions and answers at the end of the Webinar, even if they're not related to the topic he discussed that day. It's a great way to learn more about your account and get some questions answered as well.

User Groups-What are they good for?
This month's Webinar topic will be User Groups, which are available to some MozyPro and MozyEnterprise customers. If you're unsure how to use User Groups, or why you might want them on your account, tune in to learn more.
