A Tour of the MozyPro Admin Console - Part 3: Sub-Partners & SubAdmins

Note: Before we get started, it's important to note that not all Admin Consoles have the same options available. Depending on the type of account you have, you may have different options available or unavailable to you in your Admin Console. If you see something shown in this post that you don't have, but would like to, please contact our MozyPro Sales team to see about getting it added to your account.




The Partners Section

If you have Sub-Partners enabled on your account, you'll be able to add/edit/view your Sub-Partners from this section. A Sub-Partner is essentially a separate account, with their own admin and separate log ins, that is under your main account. This gives the Admin of the main account overall control over the Sub-Partner account, while giving some control to the Admin of the Sub-Partner account.


The Partners Section includes the following links:


  • Search / List Partners - Access to view and find Sub-Partners
  • Add New Partner - Takes you to where you can create a new Sub-Partner



Search / List Partners

This section will list all of the Sub-Partners in your account and allow you to see some basic information regarding them, including:


  • External ID - An external ID the main admin can set up for the partner ID
  • Partner - The name of the Sub-Partner account (typically a company name or the name of a department within the main company)
  • Created - The date which that Sub-Partner was added to the account
  • Root Admin - The email for the Admin of the Sub-Partner account
  • Type - The type of Partner it is
  • Users - How many Users the Sub-Partner currently has
  • Keys - How many Keys assigned to that Sub-Partner
  • Storage - How many GB that Sub-Partner is assigned

Sub-Partner Information

If you click on the Sub-Partner it will open a section where you can view more information and edit details regarding the Sub-Partner. These include:


  • ID - The Sub-Partner ID assigned to them from the Mozy system
  • External ID - The ability to add/edit an external ID for that Sub-Partner
  • Approved - The date that Sub-Partner was created in the account
  • Status - This shows whether the Sub-Partner is Active or Suspended
  • Root Admin - This shows the name of the root admin of that Sub-Partner
    • The Sub-Partner Admin name is clickable, and directs you to where you can view/edit the name, email, password, roles, and sub-admins for that Sub-Partner
    • Act As - Provides the ability for you to masquerade as that Sub-Partner Admin and see the Admin Console as they would see it
  • Root Role - View/change the role the Sub-Partner Admin is set up under
  • Security - Shows they type of security the account was set up with, typically this is Standard or HIPAA
  • Enable Mobile Access - Yes/No - Shows whether the Sub-Partner has the ability to access the account via the mobile app
  • Enable Co-Branding - Yes/No - Allows you to view/change whether the Sub-Partner shows your account branding (if it is enabled on your account)
  • Require Ingredient -
  • Enable Autogrow - Yes/No - Shows whether Autogrow is enabled or disabled for the Sub-Partner
  • Account Details - An expandable section where you can update the Sub-Partner's contact details
  • Subadmins - An expandable section where you can view/edit the Subadmins for that Sub-Partner



Add New Partner

This section is where you can add a new partner to your account with the following information:


  • Creating Under - The name of the Partner/Account this Sub-Partner is being created under
  • Company Name - The name you'll input as the Sub-Partner name
  • Pricing Plan - The pricing plan for the account
  • Root Role - The role the Sub-Partner will be assigned
  • Admin Name - The name you'll input for the Admin of that Sub-Partner
  • Admin Email Address - The email and log-in username for that Sub-Partner Admin
  • Create Partner - Click Create Partner when you've input the correct information and are ready to save/create



The Admins Section

If you have the ability to add additional Admins to your plan, this is the section where you'll add them and manage them. In this section you'll find the following categories...


  • Search Admins - The section where you can search your SubAdmins
  • List Admins - The section where you can view your SubAdmins
  • Add New Admin - This allows you to add another Admin
  • List Roles - A section where you can view the roles of your SubAdmins
  • Add New Role - This is where you can add a new Role for your Admins



Search Admins

Search Admins and List Admins are very similar in that you can view details about your admins and access them. But you also have varying sections. Search Admins has a search feature that List Admins does not. Search Admins provides these columns:


  • Name - The name of the Admin
  • Email - The email/username of the Admin
  • Role - The Role the Admin is assigned to
  • Admin Hierarchy - This defines the hierarchy of the admins and shows you which Admins are over which



The Admin Details Panel

The Admin Details panel can be accessed by clicking on the Admin's name or email from the Search Admins or List Admins section. Here is what you can find and/or change along the top there:


  • The Admin Email and Name - These will show in the top left
  • ID - The internal ID for the Admin
  • External ID - The External ID or option to change it or set one up
  • Delete Admin - This allows you to delete the admin entirely
  • Change Password - Allows you to change the password for the Admin's log in
  • Act as [Admin Name] - Allows you to view the Admin Console as that Admin sees it to verify their view

Personal Information

This section can edit the personal information for the Admin, and includes:


  • Name - The name of the Admin
  • Email - The Email/Username for the Admin
  • Parent Admin - The Admin this Admin resides under in the hierarchy
  • Save Changes - Allows you to save the changes you'd made to the Admin's personal details

User Groups

This section defines which User Groups this Admin can view and act as Admin for. If you click on Add/Remove User Groups it will give you a list of all User Groups and the option to check the boxes to allow that Admin access to them, and then to Save or Cancel.



This will list any Roles the Admin has assigned to them. Clicking on Add/remove roles will list the roles and allow you to check the boxes for the Roles you'd like to assign to that Admin, as well as the options to Save or Cancel.



If this Admin has any Sub-Admins assigned to them they will show here.


List Admins

Here are the columns that List Admins offers:


  • Name - The name of the Admin
  • User Groups - The User Groups the Admin has access to
  • Role - The Role the Admin is assigned to



Add New Admin

This is where you can add another Admin, and it gives you the options to fill in these details:


  • Name - The name of the Admin (for your own reference)
  • Email - The email for the Admin, this will also be used as their Username for log in
  • Parent Admin - This drop down lets you select another Admin to be over the new Admin in the hierarchy
  • User Groups - These are the groups that Admin has access to
  • Roles - You can check the boxes for the Role(s) you'd like that Admin to have in place for them



List Roles

This section shows you the Roles that you can assign to your Admins. It will list the following:


  • Name - The name of the Role
  • Type - The type of Role that Role is assigned as
  • Capabilities - The number of capabilities that Role has
  • Members - The number of Admins assigned to that Role
  • Partners - The number of Partners assigned to that Role

Add New Role

You can also create anew Role and enter the following basic information:


  • Type - The type of Role you want it to be
  • Name - The name you want to give the Role
  • Parent - The Parent Role for this Role
  • Config Group - The main Group that Role is over



The Role Details Panel

When you click on the name of the Role, it'll take you into the details for that Role. Underneath a section that is much like the Add New Role section, is a bunch of options to enable/disable. Let's talk about each of the options so you know what they are and whether or not to enable them.



This section has the following options:


  • Roles: add/edit/delete - Enables Admins with the role to add, edit, and delete Roles
  • Roles: view/assign - Enables Admins with the Role to view and assign Roles
  • Admins: add/edit/delete - Enables Admins with the Role to add, edit, and delete other Admins
  • Admins: list/view - Enables Admins with the Role to list and view other Admins
  • Log in as Admin - Enables Admins with the Role to act as other Admins


This section has the following options:


  • Edit billing information - Enables Admins with this Role to edit the billing and credit card information
  • View charges - Enables Admin with this Role to view the Billing History


This section has the following options:


  • Client Config: Encryption Key Export - Enables Admins with this Role to export the account Encryption Key if set up
  • Client Config: Encryption Key: Custom - Enables Admins with this Role to set up Custom Encryption Keys
  • Client Config: Encryption Key: URL - Enables Admins with this Role to update the Custom Key URL
  • Edit branding - Allows the Admin to edit the branding for the account
  • Edit client configuration - Allows the Admin to edit the Client Configurations
  • Edit error messages - Allows the Admin to edit the Error Messages and how they report
  • Force client update - Allows the Admin to change and push through client updates



  • Replace Machines - Allows the Admin to Replace Machines via the Admin Console



  • Show Data Center - Allows the Admin to see the data center next to their machine information



  • Partners: add - Allows the Admin to add Partners
  • Partners: delete - Allows the Admin to delete Partners
  • Partners: edit - Allows the Admin to edit Partners
  • Partners: list/view - Allows the Admin to view Partners and their details



  • Backup Health - Allows Admins view Backup Health
  • Backup History - Allows Admins to view Backup History
  • Report: Bandwidth - Allows Admins to view Bandwidth information
  • Reports page - Allows Admins access to the Reports page
  • Reports: create/edit - Allows Admins to create and edit Reports
  • Reports: view/run - Allows Admins to view and run Reports



  • Change Plan Resources - Allows Admins with this Role to change the Plan and edit Resources
  • Purchase Resources - Allows Admins with this Role to purchase and add resources
  • Return unused resources - Allows Admins with this Role to return any unused resources
  • Transfer resources - Allows Admin with this Role to transfer resources between groups/users/machines



  • Edit quotas - Allows Admins with this Role to edit quotas for users/machines
  • Log in as user - Allows Admins to act as Users
  • Machines: create/edit/delete - Allows Admins to create, edit, and delete machines from the account
  • Machines: list/view - Allows Admins to view machines
  • Machines: reactivate - Allows Admins to reactivate deleted or suspended machines
  • Perform web restores - Allows Admins to perform web restores for Users
  • User Groups: create/edit/delete - Allows Admins to create, edit, and delete User Groups
  • User Groups: list/view - Allows Admins to list and view User Group details
  • Users: create/edit/delete - Allows Admins to create, edit, and delete Users
  • Users: list/view - Allows Admins to list and view User details
  • View machine backup history - Allows Admins to view the machine backup history
  • View restore history - Allows Admins to view Restore history for Users/machines
