3 Easy Things to Check Right Now for Your Mozy Account

If you'd like to make sure your backup is on track, and that it stays that way, there are a few important things to take a moment and check. These are good things to check regularly to ensure things keep running smoothly and you don't find yourself in a bad position should you lose the machine and/or data.

Check Your File Selections

 

Here's the biggest question to ask yourself:

 

Is everything you want backed up selected properly? Are you 100% sure?

 

Probably the one issue above others that we hate to see most, is when people didn't have everything they need properly selected, and then their machine crashes and that data is lost to them. It happens more often than you think, and it's heartbreak every time.

 

Double-Check Your File Selections

 

For that reason, it's so very important to make sure you have all of your files properly selected, and even if you had them all set up properly at one point, it's always best to check every now and then to make sure you're not missing something new that's been added or no changes have occurred.

Note: Pay close attention to the instructions regarding the color of selected boxes/dots when selecting. They do make a big difference in how things are selected.

 

Check Your Billing

 

Another thing to double check is that your billing is up to date. Maybe you've gotten a new card and it hasn't been input into Mozy yet, or it's been a few years since you entered a card into the system and you may have forgotten a previous update to your card that needs to be updated. Either way, making sure you have your billing all updated can really save you some hassle when your renewal comes up and Mozy tries to bill you for another term of service. Not having an up-to-date card in our system could result in your account being suspended, and worst-case, if it continues to remain un-billed it could be deleted entirely.

Check Your Backup History

 

Another thing you should be regularly checking is the backup history to see how backups are progressing on your machine. You could have a problem that you've missed, or Mozy could have been disabled/removed without you knowing, so make sure to double check that your backups are occurring often so you can reach out to Support if you need help.
